Trust Waikato Grants Team Restructure Announced

Trust Waikato is pleased to announce a restructuring of our Grants Team that will focus on community engagement and will enable our grants team to better connect, support, and innovate with our Waikato communities to achieve their aspirations.

Rongo Kirkwood has been appointed Pouhere Puutea – Grants Manager. Rongo will lead the grants team to achieve the community development outcomes outlined in our strategic plan.

Tarita Templeton has been appointed as Pou Aarahi – Community Engagement Advisor. Tarita will be focused on building community relationships and identify opportunities to achieve high impact. The Trust is currently recruiting a second Community Engagement Advisor.

Molly Allen has been appointed as the Pou Aawhina – Community Response Advisor. Molly is responsible for the Community Response grants valued at $20,000 and under.

Nita McNeil, Pou Hono – Database and Information Manager, will report to Rongo Kirkwood as the Grants Manager.

The grants team is excited to reflect the changing nature of philanthropy that further values the voice of grassroots communities and the aspirations they seek.

Rongo says “our new approach will reflect Trust Waikato’s strategic intent that focuses on equity and sustainability and Trust Waikato’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.”
