The Pasifika by Nature Trust celebrated its 20th anniversary last weekend, with its largest ever festival held at Claudelands Events Centre.
Over 800 secondary students from 12 schools in the Waikato/BOP area participated, showcasing cultural song and dance performances from a range of Pacific islands and Aotearoa. This year’s theme ‘Be Who You Want To Be’ was the National Youth Week theme.
To mark the milestone anniversary, the Trust added a Songfest event making it a two-day programme. There was also a market place outside the Claudelands venue offering Pasifika food, arts and crafts.
The 2018 placings were: 1st Fraser High, 2nd Tokoroa High, 3rd Hamilton Girls High School.
