The Hamilton Chinese Sports Day is one of the biggest community sporting events in Hamilton and this year a football skill competition, penalty shootout, football bowling and football juggling were added to encourage a wider range of participation.
The event was held on 7 April 2018 at Hamilton Lake, Innes Common and around 2,000 members of the Chinese and local community attended.
This day brings together a variety of Chinese clubs, organisations and individuals to interact with other ethnic participants in a one-day sports and cultural festival. The Sports Day succeeded in strengthening bonds amongst diverse groups of local Chinese migrants, as well as enabling positive interaction with the wider Hamilton community.
