Born and breed on the Coromandel Peninsula, Michael Liam Kedzlie joined the board of Trust Waikato in July 2017. Mr Kedzlie has a master’s degree in education from Massey University and a law degree from the University of Waikato Law School.
Following a teaching career in New Zealand he moved to Japan in 2001 working for the YMCA in Aichi. Returning to New Zealand for further education, he went back to Japan initially to teach in tertiary education before moving into a management role at IAFOR in policy and research relinquishing his role in 2016.
He remains a member of the IAFOR academic advisory board and publications committee. Currently he is the publisher and editor of the Matarangi Beach Paper, a community publication on the Coromandel Peninsula and a director of MLK Research Ltd.
He is honoured to serve as a trustee on Te Puna o Waikato and is absolutely committed to supporting its overarching goal of vibrant and resilient communities.
