The Trust Waikato Strategic Priorities are aimed at achieving transformational change for people, families, communities and places where the need is greatest.

2024 Round Closing Dates

Trust Waikato has three funding rounds each year where we consider applications. Applications can be submitted at any time prior to the closing date for each round.

 

In general, groups only receive one grant each calendar year.

Round 1 - 4.30pm on Friday, 9 February 2024

  • Community Response Round - Payments are generally made to successful organisations 12 weeks after closing

Round 2 - 4.30pm on Friday, 14 June 2024

  • Community Response - Payments are generally made to successful organisations 12 weeks after closing

  • Significant Capital Projects Fund - Grants towards capital projects with total costs of $1m or more

Round 3 - 4.30pm on Friday, 6 September 2024

  • Community Response Round - Payments are generally made to successful organisations 12 weeks after closing

The Trust Waikato Region

The Trust Waikato funding area incorporates the Thames–Coromandel, Hauraki, Matamata–Piako, Waipa, Waikato, South Waikato, Waitomo, Otorohanga and Ruapehu districts, and Hamilton city based on the boundaries set through legislation in 1964.

It includes much of the lands of the Tainui waka, and the people of Waikato, Raukawa, Hauraki and Maniapoto iwi.

Accountability Requirements

An online accountability report will be required either when the group makes a subsequent application or within 12 months of receiving the grant, whichever comes first.

 

The level of accountability detail varies with the size and type of grant. These are outlined in section 12 of the Grants Policy available here
