Edgar Wilson has been a Trust Waikato trustee since 2012, and is currently the board’s Chair. He finds it personally rewarding to see “the difference that Trust Waikato funds make within the community”, and enjoys watching groups progress towards collaborative working and self-sufficiency.
Edgar’s professional and academic background is in education, both secondary and tertiary, in New Zealand and the UK. He is currently the Regional Engagement Manager for Wintec, working with private training establishments across the Waikato, as well as with the region’s migrant community.
Edgar is the joint author of a chapter of a book titled Business Integrity in Practice: Insights from International Case Studies, part of the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) United Nations book collection. He has co-authored a book: Responsible governance: International perspectives for the new era, published February 2015.
In addition to Trust Waikato, Edgar holds governance roles as Chair of K’aute Pasifika Trust Board and is the Chair of Child Matters.
