Niwa Nuri
Niwa was appointed to the Trust Board in June 2011. Of Te Arawa and Whakatōhea descent, Niwa has lived
in Hamilton for the past 27 years. A qualified accountant, Niwa works as a Business Consultant servicing mainly the Hamilton area. He has a strong background in working with both private companies and not for profit organisations, in particular the social services area.
Niwa’s life revolves around his wife Ngahuia and their two beautiful daughters, Sinead and Siobhan. He is the chair of Rototuna Primary School Board of Trustees, where his youngest daughter currently attends school. With a real passion for supporting communities, Niwa also serves as a trustee on the board at Te Hunga Manaaki Services in Tauranga.
Basketball is now one of his passions, having become involved through his daughters’ participation in the sport. Niwa is both the 'official bus driver’ and their number one fan! However, he remains a keen supporter of the Warriors and All Blacks.
