John Paenga
John Paenga was appointed to the Trust in June 2010. Of Ngati Konohi, Ngati Porou, 
Te Aitanga a Mahaki and Rongowhakaata descent, John has lived in Hamilton for the past 11 years. He has a strong background in working with not for profit organisations, in particular the social services and mental health sectors.
John currently works part-time for a community mental health and social services provider, and also serves in a voluntary capacity in the community including being a member of the Kirikiriroa/Hamilton COGS Local Distribution Committee.
John is committed to life-long learning and holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences, Bachelor of Laws, and a Master of Laws. John is bi-lingual and comfortably embraces both Te Ao Maori and the non-Maori world. He has a passion for all sports and is a keen supporter of the Warriors and All Blacks.
