Fee-Ching Tan

Fee-Ching and her husband, Conrad (Con) Tan, of Chinese descent, came from Malaysia to New Zealand to pursue tertiary studies 40+ years ago.

Fee-Ching’s work experience includes the public sector in education and health. She had been working with Con in their computer business for 12 years before she rejoined the public service as a social worker at Child Youth and Family Services of the Ministry of Social Development since 1998.

Fee-Ching’s community involvement at a voluntary level spans over 35 years - a great part of which revolved round the different growing stages of their two sons such as Plunket, playcentre, kindergartens and schools. The other part revolves around her cultural heritage, migrant and women issues. Currently she is vice president of the Waikato Chinese Association.

Fee-Ching joined the Trust as a trustee in 2004.

Fee-Ching and Con live in Hamilton and have two adult sons. She enjoys reading and loves cooking and travelling.
