Donation Policy

 

What do we fund? 

 

We focus on projects, programmes and organisations which contribute to the well being of communities. We do not fund individuals. We fund groups whose work may involve:

  • Social Services
  • Sports
  • Recreational activities
  • Arts
  • Culture
  • Environmental initiatives
  • Preservation of our history
  • Education
  • Youth

What don’t we fund?

 

Generally the Trust will not make donations for:

  • individuals
  • travel overseas or outside of the region
  • conference attendance
  • vehicles
  • completed projects
  • sports uniforms
  • prizes and trophies
  • commercial organisations
  • loan repayments or other debt instrument repayments
  • venture capital
  • endowments
  • fundraising

 

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact a Donations Advisor as exemptions may be made where the project can demonstrate strong links to the Trust's Donation Focus.

In support of the Trust's priority of preserving and protecting the region's history and artifacts, and promoting understanding of the culturally diverse nature of the region, the Trust has a policy on the purchase of art and taonga.
