Bruce Hosking
Bruce has been part of the Trust Waikato Board since 2000. He is a Chartered Accountant, with degrees in commerce, psychology and education, Bruce has spent most of his professional life working in the field of adult education. He was, for 26 years, based at the University of Waikato's Centre for Continuing Education, including several years as Assistant Director and later several years as Director.
He currently manages the Travel & Learn Unit, based at Calder and Lawson Travel.
During his time on the Trust, Bruce has developed a strong commitment to Socially Responsible Investment policies and practices and since 2005 has represented the Community Trusts on the Board of the NZ Council For Socially Responsible Investment.
On a voluntary basis, Bruce has had a large number of roles in a variety of Waikato and National social service agencies. He has a particular interest in the field of Mental Health and was a Board Member for nine years (including four as Chair) of the NZ Mental Health Foundation.
More recently, he was the Founding National Chairperson of the National Association of Loss and Grief.
Bruce lives in Hamilton. He is married to Wendy and they have four children and seven grandchildren.
